Suicide isn’t the answer.

suicide_speak_reachThere is no easy way to talk about this topic. Sometimes in life you just have to forget the niceties and tackle something head on which is exactly what I am going to do. If this topic makes you feel uneasy I am sorry for making you feel that way but I will never apologise for talking about it. This is a topic that needs to be addressed. It is something that needs to be talked about and until we start talking about it the issue is only going to get worse.

Recently I have been receiving more and more messages from people who are struggling with a number of things that in one way or another have lead them to self harm and in some cases attempt suicide. I just want to say right now that there are other options. Speak up and reach out!

The feeling of being alone sucks trust me I have been there and no I may not know the situation you are in or what you are going through but I can tell you this. There is a way through it. No matter how alone you are feeling no mater what is going through you mind at this particular moment in time someone does care about you. If you try and tell yourself that no one cares I am calling you out right now because I do care. I care because your life is far more precious than this feeling of nothingness. You were born for a reason, you might not know the reason right now and you might not see a future but there is a future. A future you can be involved in. It will require strength and perseverance but  you are totally capable of it. You don’t need to be afraid to ask for help. The thing I have realised about life is that people are so busy we often don’t see that people need help unless they ask. This is the thing that upsets me the most. There are so many people who would be more than willing to help they just don’t realise. Speak up about what ever it is you are trying to tackle alone. You really aren’t alone.

Everything in life is replaceable but you are not. Cars, houses, clothes and technology are all material objects that can be replaced. Your job can even be replaced but you are the only you that will ever walk this world. You might not see it right now but you make this world a better place. Your family are better for your presence, your friends are better for your presence your pets are better for your presence I am even better for your presence. If you are reading this right now I thank you. I thank you for taking the time to read a blog about such an awkward topic. I hope that if you’ve been having thoughts of suicide or self harm that you can find a way through it. I hope that you will message me today and share your strength and then again in 2 years and tell me all of the amazing things you’ve accomplished.

The organisations are trained professionals who will be able to help you in way far superior to my capabilities. Of course you can always drop me a message if you just want to chat. I may not have all the answers but I have two ears/eyes that are always here. You are no alone!

I don’t really know what to say but I felt like I needed to so I’m just going to say Thank You.
Been reading through your blog for a while now and this post struck me, your words – although not directed to me per se – reassured me that things will be okay i guess.
I’m not sure where I was headed with this but thought I’d let you know that you’re a wonderful human… yea. 🙂
