Dreams Vs. Reality

We live in an age where we expect everything to happen right now. Patients is a dying thing. When we have to cue for more than 5 minutes we get agitated. When things don’t go our way we get frustrated and when we want something we don’t want to have to save for it we want it right now. This goes for dreams as well. We want the biggest and the best but we aren’t prepared to wait for it we want it NOW!

While it is awesome to get what we want now it is important to hold onto our dreams it might take a bit of time and hard work but don’t let that discourage you. If life was easy we wouldn’t enjoy it as much when we achieve things. Yes exams suck but they are a stepping stone to your future. Yes you might want a relationship but don’t try and force it one day you will meet someone who is going to sweep you off your feet and make you feel like the most special person in the world. You might want to become a singer but you need to practice singing. Practice every day don’t get discouraged if you miss a note keep trying until that note is part of your register. If you’re wanting to change the world that is definitely something that won’t happen overnight.

While it may seem that your dream is a distant hope a distant hope can only get closer as you work harder. The fact is you write your future if you want to achieve something your mentality, work ethic and attitude are three things that will definitely determine whether or not your dream becomes a reality. I totally believe that you have what it takes to make all of your dreams come true. Just remember it might take a little longer than you first anticipated. Don’t be discouraged by set backs Thomas Edison invented the light bulb an invention he worked on for many years with a LOT of setbacks “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”

You may have 1000 more steps to take but you’ll get there! 🙂
