Look After Yourself

I think we under estimate the change in season and the effect that it has on our bodies, our minds and our lives in general. I’m not sure about you but this year has been huge, it has been busy it has been exciting and I definitely feel it is taking it’s toll on me. In the past few weeks my eczema has broken out, I have been sleeping 14 hours a night and no matter how much sleep I get I still feel tired. While I feel like there are some things out of my power there are some things I think we can all do to take better care of ourselves.

Go to the doctor and have a check up. 

Going to the doctor is annoying, it can be expensive and really se find any excuse under the sun to avoid the doctor at all cost. It’s the perfect opportunity to go to the doctor and get them to check out any oddities the change in season might have brought.

Eat Healthy.

Summer is just around the corner and I know the best fruit isn’t quite ready yet get creative in the kitchen and try and get your 5 plus a day. If you’ve got a busy week coming up there are various companies that offer detox’s which can save time prepping meals.


There is something to be said about pushing play for 30 minutes every day. Honestly the weather is getting warmer the sun is out more and I can’t recommend soaking up some vitamin D more. You might think that you will just feel tired after doing exercise but the truth is you will feel more energised and be ready to take on the day.

Talk to someone. 

I know there is still a negative stigma around talking to a therapist or councillor this needs to change. There is nothing wrong with talking to someone. It doesn’t mean you’re crazy, weak or that you aren’t in control of your life it just means that you want to be the best person that you can be. Sometimes talking to someone can help process thoughts, feelings or emotions.

That being said it’s important to have some time to yourself as well. Make sure you’ve got some chill time every day where you can watch your favourite TV show, read a book, meditate or just take 5 minutes to have a coffee or a green tea. Christmas is just around the corner so hopefully you’ve got a break coming up. In the meantime look after those people around you and most importantly Look after yourself!
