Being a teenager is one of the hardest things we have to do as humans. There is so much going on, so much changing and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming trying to decide what to do after school The Ministry of Education have created an awesome tool which will give you advice and support for your next move. The website will provide practical skills for life.
One of the things that I think should be taught in schools is information about money and tax. It is important to learn algebra but to be completely honest ever since leaving school it isn’t something I have ever used. Money and tax are things that effect everyone. The School Leaver’s Toolkit has information to help you navigate Insurance,Budgeting,Kiwisaver and Paying Tax.
I could write an entire essay on this but let’s be honest it is a lot more interesting watching a video. The website is super easy to navigate and has awesome informative videos to help you plan the next step in your life what ever that might be.
If you are struggling to decide what your next move is don’t be afraid to take some time and really think about what it is that you would like to do. University isn’t for everyone and there are so many different options out there. If you prefer the hands on approach there are some incredible apprenticeships. You spend a lot of time at work it’s important you find something that you are passionate about to ensure you find a career that you really enjoy.
