Banks has been one of my favourite artists for the past few years. Seeing her performing at Laneway festival a couple of years ago only solidified my love for her. I love the vibe of Banks’ music. Her previous music was always mellow but it had a driving drum line.  Her latest song ‘Crowded Places’ is a new vibe again. It is a lot more eerie and has a real mellow sound. The vocals range from an enchanting melodic chorus to a verse which encroaches on rapping. The song is slow to begin but a slow building crescendo throughout the song gives the song a feeling of progression.

Banks took to twitter to share her excitement about the song giving a shout out to social anxiety and falling in love.
