This is a major win for 13 Reasons Why fans. Netflix have renewed the show for another season. Selena Gomez announced via Instagram that the show she has been co-producing had been renewed for a second season.
13 Reasons Why has become the most tweeted about show of 2017, including it’s fair share of controversy. IF you haven’t been keeping up with season one the show is based on Jay Asher’s best-selling novel, which tells the story of a Liberty High School Student, Hannah (Katherine Langford), who committed suicide and left behind cassette tapes that explain why she decided to end her life. Like every story there are two sides to this story. Some people are condemning the show saying that “teenage suicide is contagious.” Selena obviously proud of the show has another opinion of the matter. When speaking to the associated press the backlash “Was going to come no matter what. It’s not an easy subject to talk about.”
Season 2 can be expected to release in 2018 and will pick up in the aftermath of Hannah’s death and the start of the characters’ complicated journeys toward healing and recovery. See the teaser trailer Selena posted on Instagram below.
