Shawn Mendes unveiled his latest single today. “In My Blood” is 3 minutes 27 seconds of pure bliss. From the first note until the last lyric the song sounds like sure-fire smash. Before he released the song he shared with his fans that this was “the closes song to my heart” listening to the song the raw emotion is imminent. The song provides a glimpse into Shawn’s deepest thoughts.

Everything about this song screams development. Development as a person, a more mature sound and deeper lyrics. “Help Me. Its like the walls are caving in. Sometimes I feel like giving up, but I just can’t. It isn’t in my blood,” accompanied by acoustic strings. The production of the song really allows his voice to take centre stage. The pop/rock instrumental is sure to find a lot of love on radio. Bring on his first live performance of the track!

“In My Blood” is the lead single from his forthcoming third LP. We don’t yet know much about the rest of the project however if this song is anything to go by I think we are all in for a real treat.
