Entourage Film Review

Entourage – The Ride Ain’t Over hit cinemas in New Zealand today and it’s another one of those movies you just have to see. Movie star Vincent Chase, together with his boys Eric, Turtle, and Johnny, are back – and back in business with super agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold on a risky project that will serve as Vince’s directorial debut.

While the storyline isn’t going blow your socks off and it’s definitely not going to change your life in any way shape or form you can expect a few solid laughs and of course entertainment will ensue. This isn’t the kind of movie where you have to have watched the TV series to enjoy the film. I went into the cinema without seeing any of the Entourage tv series or any idea of the plot line and really enjoyed the movie.

My favourite things about this movie were the cars and the celebrity cameos. Whether you’re a Lamborghini, Ferrari or Cadillac kind of person there is most definitely a car for you. The cameos are second to none almost every celeb imaginable makes an appearance. It couldn’t be Entourage without a glimpse of Mark Wahlberg, Liam Neeson also makes a hilarious cameo in the film.

The movie does lack depth in the sense that you can’t really relate to the characters but the stereotypes are very clearly expressed. In the friend group there is the hot successful one, the goofy fun one, the guy that keeps messing up and where would you be without the over committed boss. The characters are a little disconnected from any sense of reality which is what makes them so entertaining. It’s like watching an episode of the Kardashians. It might be the complete opposite to your life but no matter which way you look at it the entertainment factor is definitely there.

This movie will satisfy both guys and girls eye candy needs. The needs of any petrol head. Someone who enjoys celebrity cameo’s. If you want to evade reality and be entertained for a couple of hours this is the movie for you! Go and check it out!

PS – Make sure you stay for the credits 😉
